Good news everyone!  The the blogs are back and the “Post Levels” appears to be working for both posts and pages now.

A note on what “appears to be working” means: Getting the working was the result of Johnson hacking at the plug-in for a while until it seemed to be working and then doing a cursory test while drinking a Manhattan. Boundary conditions have not been well tested at all at this point.  That said, we’re not expecting any issues, we just can’t offer any guarantees at the moment.

It’s also worth noting that as of now none of the old themes have been uploaded to the new system.  This does not seem to have broken any blogs, but if it has let us know and we’ll fix it asap.

issue in less than 10 words) in the body a detailed description of what the
problem is and salient details like your blog URL and the username you have
registered.

If I need more details I will email you back, if this happens I am not
trying to blow you off but get more information so I can figure out if it is
a sitewide problem or just an individual issue.

Please give me 24-48 hours to respond, odds are I have already told my
Wookie co-pilot to fly the ship while I’m down in the engine compartment
trying to fix the hyperdrive.

KNOWN issues

1) Themes suck. I can’t help it. Ill start slowly reenabling them when I
am sure they are not going to break anymore.

2) Slow Email. The email may take 24 hours to reach you for activation.
It’s weird like that. Please be patient.

3) Blogroll: I am working on the back end of the blogs and the blogroll @
threadsblogs.com should be up to date today sometime.. The Blogroll is Complete Some of the
characters may be miscategorized but please feel free to email the help
group to fix this.

4)Friends groups: These don’t exist in this system yet, however you can
password protect posts that you thing should be secret and give your
friends the password. Thats the best i can offer. Anyone registered on the
system can comment in journals and participate, so unless you want to give
them posting access to the journal you should not have to add them as users
to your journal.

5) User levels. Please don’t mess with these, they are a site wide setting
and I am working on figuring out how to individualize them.

6) BGA’s and level 10 posts: the Posts are not protected but the level 10
PAGES are.

7)Tutorials: I am working on setting up some pretty pictures and such to
post in a section on the main threadblogs site. Additionally, this post
will be there. I will post it as a post but also a page as “State of the
Blogs 5/07″ and try to update it as things change.
